Can 3CO treat my hair loss?
In most cases, yes! It depends on whether your hair loss is due to hereditary baldness; by far the most common cause of hair loss. We can easily determine this with a short questionnaire.
Hereditary baldness in men: what about it?
In men, baldness is caused by hereditary predisposition in 95% of cases. This form of hair loss is genetic: if baldness occurs in your father, grandfather or other male family members, you are more likely to experience it too. The hormone DHT plays a key role here. It causes hair follicles to shrink gradually, until hair growth finally stops.
Hereditary male baldness follows a recognisable pattern, usually beginning with coves and a thinning crown. Other, less common causes of hair loss — such as illness, trauma, or long-term stress — usually show a different pattern. This difference makes it possible to properly assess whether your hair loss is consistent with hereditary baldness via a short questionnaire.
Hereditary baldness in women: what about it?
In women, hair loss is usually the result of a hereditary predisposition. This form of hair loss is partly genetic and is influenced by hormones. There are usually no bald spots, but a gradual thinning on the top of the head and a widening separation.
Factors such as pregnancy, menopause, stress, or nutritional deficiencies can enhance this process. Here, too, we can use a targeted questionnaire to assess whether your hair loss falls within this pattern.
